C-14 Impaler References
The first thing I saw was the cinematic trailer. Since Blizzard is bandwidth-stingy and use a bittorrent-based downloader to save money, here’s a direct link: http://vrogy.net/vids/sc2cinematic.avi.
It uses the XviD video codec.. if you’re not sure what that is, you might want to grab this to play it with: VLC Portable. There are also crappy-quality versions on youtube.
Before Solidworks was even touched, I went around googling starcraft 2, collecting reference images. I found a decent amount, and modified a few to imitate end-on views of different parts for scaling purposes. From there, I can insert pictures into Solidworks and actually sketch on top of them.
