Laser-cut Pepakura

Laser-cut Pepakura

Figured out how to lasercut pepakura. I’ve got all the settings down for a 45W Epilog CO2 laser, from pepakura’s export options to good, thin fonts for cutting, and how to just cut enough that parts will tear cleanly out of a piece of cardstock. Takes about ten minutes per sheet, though- most of that is the edge IDs.

No cutting. No scoring. Just folding pre-scored lines and gluing it together. Contact me with some pre-sized files if you’d like me to cut you some.

That’s great Vrogy! You own the laser cutter or you’re doing it in a shop?

Crazy idea!!! You know how people reprint the pep files with out the flaps to trace on cardboard for more strength when resinning? Have you tried that on some cardboard, thin cardboard mind like a cereal box, with the laser? Sounds like you are off to some awesome progress my friend.

Love the idea. But I have just one question. Is it going to cost us anything.

How much do you charge avg for just cardstock prints?

hey looks good! you could preprint the edge IDs first then have the laser make all of the cuts without the numbers! would you mind sharing the settings? i’ve been doing a lot of pep for friends and think there is a lot of potential here!

+1 to justin. I work by the Air Frame Mechanics, and we have a printer to cut vynals, but since its like pulling teeth adjusting the depth, and getting it to cut the outlines, then adjusting it again and having it do the scored lines… and all that work yeilds no numbers. its quicker for me to do it the old school way!

But i’d pay someone if they could do it successfully for a few peices i need that i have no time for.
