what's the name of the place, and what sort of machining do they specialize in if you don't mind my asking? i'm from an engineering school myself, but those sort of jobs are hard to come by here in the philippines. i'm looking to do work in a similar field.

ive only seen them go for arround $2-300+

		<description>No real advantage, it's the same polygon data. If anything I grabbed the obj just to slice it up into machinable chunks. Let me know how your projects go!</description>

Thanks for sharing your steps.  I am also an avid C4D user and a member of techshop here in Portland.  Curious if you are able to use the .stl export from C4D, or if the .obj's have a special advantage.  Just joined up so I'm hoping to get to take a class on toolpaths and to use the 4x8 CNC Saber machine soon.  I've picked up the basics in other CAD apps that might be more suitable for my goal, but honestly I love C4D so much that everything else looks like roadkill in the rear-view mirror.
