Come Get Your Halo 3 Marine PDOs [Halo Pepakura]
There’s always going to be That Guy.
The guy who tries(ss) to write(ss) you(ss) out of the forum after you say something they don’t like. The guy who steals your work and reposts it with almost all of your credit(and others’) removed. The guy who jealously guards his work, letting only screenshots and snippets out. The guy who decides he should only release pdfs, because the latest version of his software of choice bit the bullet and wrote in model exporting.
I’m not going to be That Guy. Enjoy.

Where ever you are out there my man Good Work on this. Glad to see this released to the public. I found the link to this on the 405th forums. However the thread that a member posted this link was, you guessed it, DELETED. I have enough politics with this past election now I still have to deal with in on the forum boards that deal with costuming. Makes no DAMN sense. Well there is always Iron Man! MAGICMAKER:
The terran marine stuff isn’t ready.. in fact, it’s not really going to be for pep, it’s just a start of a much smoother geometry.. like this: http://flickr.com/photos/vrogy/2955783016
And, yeah, they closed registration.
Daniel:
Hah, yeah, thanks. Once they got around to wondering where I’d gone.. I knew the thread was toast.

Vrogy:
We at the 405th just came across this.
Great work, it looks amazing, and you’ve filled in the gap for the files we don’t have.
I’m sorry we don’t see you anymore, but I wont inquire further.

Vrogy:
Like 137 said, I dont know what happend to you, or why the thread got deleted, but this is excelent work.

I’m afraid I need to ask the most hated question when it comes to pep, but it needs to be asked.
Scaling?
November 11th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
There really is no answer to that..
“What works best for you” and “Whatever works” apply, though..
of course, you could look at the baseline necessities for scaling:
greaves need to fit around your legs
chest needs to fit around your body
helmet needs to fit on your head
The default scales are what I’ve used.
Also, some parts can be printed and cut out, such as spacers and edges, to help approximate..

Thank’s, Vrogy.
Just to keep you informed, the Staff and Mods are upholding your request to keep your files from being posted or linked on the 405th.
Great job once again.
November 11th, 2008 at 6:51 pm
Interesting.. I can’t remember saying that, and I can’t find it in any of my logs and records.
Likely the usual 405th horse shit.
I also noticed several of the topics I linked to above have been changing.. I’ve linked to screen shots where I have them.
Also.. good to see a Charter was finally put into place. I’m glad the 405th finally has a framework upon which to start expanding with local groups and official meetups, not to mention the benefits which stem from introducing armor standards and such.. It’s really a feat they’ve performed, going from an oligarchy to a more democratic model. I’m impressed.
November 11th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
Well, I won’t get involved more than I have. I have no wish to be a catalyst for a potentially nasty argument.
And our charter’s gone through?
November 12th, 2008 at 5:38 am
Vrogy… thanks for the answer man!
the 405th at least keep the links open to the rest of the humans… fortunelly for us.
Vrogy i’m just grateful for your work just want to say thanks so much.
i will be you fan and i’ll be here waiting for any model that you release, cause we all know that you are the best modeling staff!!
question, never think about some model about Star Wars? Republic commando for example?
any way, keep up the good work you are the man!!!

Thanks man, been looking forward to the .pdo, Can’t wait to get a pilot going.
November 24th, 2008 at 11:00 am
Made one of the shoulders and I like it! Seems like it will fit me fine so I’m going to make the rest of these models. I will stop short of the chest and helmet as I know I will need to print the support bars to make sure they measure up. Those items will be phase 2. Really love these .PDOs you made and look forward to future projects.
November 25th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
This is amazing, great work! I do have one problem though-when i download the files, it says
“! C:\Documents and Settings\VIDEO GAME MASTER\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\R4A744UB\h3marine_final[1].zip: Unexpected end of archive”
would you be able to repost it? If not, would you be able to email it to me at runescapeguide110@yahoo.com? I cant do any of the ripping or pepakura stuff, so I would really love to have the opportunity build your models. Thanks for posting them though, i hate people who show awesome stuff like this and just hoard it for themselves. I think you’re setting an example for those kind of people. I really appreciate that, Thanks.
November 25th, 2008 at 5:19 pm
I just re-checked it, seems to be a problem on your end. It’s extracted fine for me with both stuffit and winrar. Shoot me an email if you can’t sort it out, I’ll just send you the pdos.
November 29th, 2008 at 6:32 pm
Hey Mike, its Rvb4life from the forums, good to see you are still with the costuming thing even after being booted from the 405th. I know those guys can be a bit out of hand, I think they are turning a bit too oppressive on people. I dont know. Anyway, just wanted to say good work, glad to talk to you.
Anyway, see you around the internets!

February 5th, 2009 at 4:54 am
great rant vrogy, and seriously great work.. you know i agree with you 100% on the shinanigans of the 405th… the world would be a much better place if everyone had a share-alike copywright mindset..
March 28th, 2009 at 10:35 pm
Very nice, I think I’m going to try these. I like your little references here.
I also totally agree with what you said, and I’m excited to see the starcraft marine going like it is. Keep up the good work!

great armor man. i know it probably bugs u to here this but could you shoot me an email explaining what your talking about the 405? i would like to know what other bullshit they pull after warning me for “Arguing” with another member when i defended the 405! they have also become “pics or it never happened” Nazis and shut down all threads about making air soft and paintball armor. the only reason i stay is that i have no other alternatives for such a community
