Ok, ok.. is this really possible? Will a standard human unit actually fit in there?

Looks like it. That’s my silhouette, and the silhouettes of the major armor pieces.

Veery uncomfortable, especially aruound the shoulders and crotch.
You also want to make sure the knees are at the right height.

You could also fake the shoulders a bit and have your arms come out in more of the “armpit” area.

For a costume, you can probably distort the profile and get away with it. If the suit were ‘for reals’, I wouldn’t put human arms in the suit arms if this profile had to be followed exactly. The suit’s arms would be controlled via thoughts, brain jack, or similar sci-fi concept. The wearer of the suit would have his arms crossed over his chest, and in the core chest piece.
Similar to some of Shirow’s designs from Appleseed.

The only problem with getting this right looks like the arms,getting that elbow joint to work without breaking the wearers arms.
